Soma (carisoprodol) is a muscle relaxant that blocks the transmission of signals between nerves and the brain, reducing pain. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor recommends you to do so. You may experience unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Some serious side effects you may have when taking Soma include vision loss, agitation, confusion, paralysis (loss of feeling), feeling light-headed or fainting, loss of coordination, fast or irregular heartbeat. In case of experiencing these side effects discontinue the use of this medicine and contact your local emergency room for professional help. You can continue taking Soma if you experience any of the following mild side effects: insomnia, blurred vision, headache, tremor, drowsiness, dizziness, irritability of depression, vomiting, nausea, hiccups and an upset stomach.
